WHY FILM?
There is a beauty of working with a finite medium like film.
I love that it captures the soul of the moment and leaves room for imperfection. Film allows me to be active and engaged in the creation of the image. There are hundreds of years that go into the science and magic of physically capturing and developing the final shot. The medium of film creates a tangible object that reflects the complexity of the moment and relationship with the subjects both in front and behind the camera.
HOW DO I KNOW IF WE’LL WORK WELL TOGETHER?
My goal as a photographer and artist is to document the story as it unfolds. I don’t ever want you to feel like you are going from photoshoot to photoshoot, performing for a camera. Of course, that requires trust and communication. I know we will work well together if we can both laugh at ourselves a bit, enjoy the moment, and trust each other as photographer and subject!
HOW DO YOU BALANCE FILM AND DIGITAL ON A WEDDING DAY?
Balancing both film and digital on a wedding day is about embracing the variety they offer. The gear I choose depends on the moment at hand, ensuring the final images capture the magic of each split second.
I stay fully in tune with the present, using my experience to make instinctive decisions that allow me to create the most beautiful and authentic representation of the moment unfolding around me as an expert and intuitive artist.
